Just what exactly is pot???
Well, marijuana [scientific name:
Cannabis] is an herb that contains the non-narcotic chemical
THC [Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol]. THC is the chemical that
get you high. Jamaica, Mexico, and British Columbia are just
some of the many places that grow a lot of weed. The thing
about weed is it really isn't as bad as the media portraies it
to be. It really pisses me off when someone will
give me their thoughts about weed and all they have
to say is the shit they heard off of those anti-drug
ads; it's addictive, it will lead to other things,
and all that BS. Maryjanes use has been recorded back
thousands of years ago by many different cultures and we
are one of the few countries still criminalizing our citizens
for the God given right to consume/smoke a 100% natural plant
on our own time! You could be Jesus and still get thrown in
jail for possesion of cannabis. Why doesn't our government
focus more on protection from others then from ourselves?
Below are three of the most common myths about marijuana
1. Marijuana kills.
What a bullshit claim this one is.
Of course this is false, there has been
cases where people have died while being high, but
this doesn't mean it was because of weed or that
weed even had a factor in it. There is no known
toxins in marijuana therefore you cannot overdose on
it.
2. Marijuana is addictive.
False again, We
now know that 10% of our population have "addictive
personalities" and they are neither more nor less
likely to overindulge in cannabis than in anything
else. On a relative scale, marijuana is less habit
forming than either sugar or chocolate but more so
than anchovies. Sociologists report a general
pattern of marijuana use that peaks in the early
adult years, followed by a period of leveling off
and then a gradual reduction in use.

3. Marijuana will lead to other harder
drugs and violence.
Nope. The only crime most marijuana users commit
is that they use marijuana. And, while many people who abuse dangerous
drugs also smoke marijuana, the old "stepping stone" theory is now discredited,
since virtually all of them started out "using" legal drugs like sugar,
coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, etc. And if weed did lead
to other things, why are there so
many people who just smoke weed? And
why aren't there more crack heads out
there? Marijuana is the most used illegal drug
by far in the United
States.

The Cannabis Culture

Aww, now the fun part. To me, cannabis culture
is lightin up with your friends just chilling the day away, to have
a respect for the herb
that is about to get
you floating. Everytime you rip it up, you should be thankful for
the weed you got; you might not always have it. Once I can
drive, I'll have a broader range of things I can do, such as going
to concerts [I can now but it's a real pain in the ass
getting rides], I'll be able to go to head shops, take
my friends hot boxing....god it'll be great. If I had
to pick one lifestyle to live by I would definitely choose cannabis culture. There's less
violence, more peace, and you get to wear tie-dye! yeah.
There are a lot of different kinds of herb
smokers out there, ranging from wise hippies, to your grandma that
swears it's for medicinal purposes, to guys that think weed is the
coolest thing that ever happened to them and that everything in life
is better when your stoned....not to say I object. The list doesn't
stop there, but I don't wanna have to write out all of them.
I have a feeling when I retire, I'm gonna move
into a little shack on a nice beach, and surf and smoke the herb for
the rest of my life. I'll just be a surfer hippie. I mean what better a life?
Wake up to the smell of the ocean and bud. Aww, what a mix.
Then go surfing for awhile until your a bit tired, smoke some, relax
and watch as the hot babes walk down the beach.
One thing I have to do is
go to Hempfest in Seattle. You should too. I went to their site to
look at pics and it looked so damn nice. It's just a big
maryjane get-together with bands, public speakers, and all that great stuff.
I think it's for trying to get marijuana legalized, which that right
there is enough reason there for me to go.
One great day my fellow
stoners, we will be tokin without persecution! Until then though,
watch your back for cops [including those nasty rent-a-cops/mall
securtiy - who knew they had authority?]. I know what I'm gonna do the
day it's legalized; I'm going to go to my local police station and
ask them if they'd like to smoke a fat joint with me now
that we all can get along. It will be the day that God smiles down
on us, for we will finally all realize that the plant marijuana was
not put here by satan to corrupt us all, but by God, so we can all
indulge in peace and harmony with our fellow brother.
